Matakana Country Park is located just one hour north of Auckland, in the Rodney district which one of the fastest growing tourist attractions in New Zealand. Surrounded by lush valleys in one of the most beautiful areas of the North Island, the Park hosts a wide range of activities from horse rides, animals and adventure playground for children to arts and crafts, farmers markets, the RD6 restaurant, pottery shed and art gallery for adults. There are also many local attractions in the surrounding area including the beautiful white sand beaches and islands of the nearby Pacific Ocean as well numerous wineries and vineyards.
