White Island is New Zealand’s only live marine volcano, this steaming beauty lies 49km off the coast of Whakatane.
Step aboard PeeJay, one of two boats purpose built for White Island Tours and let the crew take you on a 6 hour journey you will never forget. Upon arrival, trained guides will give a full safety briefing before you start your fully guided tour within the inner crater of White Island. Hissing fumaroles, glittering crystals, steaming mounds and standing on the edge of the mighty crater are all part of the tour. Safety gear consisting of a gas mask and hard hat, are provided as well as refreshments and lunch. Tours depart daily from Whakatane weather permitting. Bookings are essential.
