Zion Wildlife Gardens is home to television's "The Lion man" Craig Busch. It is located in a tranquil valley in Kamo just north of Whangarei. It is home to over forty endangered big cats. Craig is dedicated to the preservation of these animals. Tours are available every day (except Christmas Day) and there are five sessions a day 9.30am, 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, and 3.30pm. Visitors to the park can choose between a Guided Tour, a Cub Encounter Tour, a Big Cat Tour, a combination tour or a Tiger Walk (this tour is at 8.30am).
