Chillawhile Backpackers & Art Gallery, offers interesting affordable accommodation in a beautiful historic 1883 home, originally owned and built by W.H.S Roberts (Historian). Chillawhile Art Gallery is open to visitors and locals, featuring New Zealand and international artists. We offer a home away from home, guests are often inspired and we encourage any creativity, providing a space to work and painting or sculpture equipment.

A great place to try your hand at sculpture using the local Oamaru Stone.
