Haka Trails

Haka Trails provides personalised tours designed to give an authentic insight to local Maori culture and the rich history of the Taupo, Turangi and Tongariro National Park region.

Your driver-guide, Stan, was born in Turangi and raised by his Maori grandparents. He is a descendant of the local tribe, Ngati Tuwharetoa, and has a wealth of local knowledge and experiences to share.

Tour experiences include eco-cultural walks, geothermal hangi meal experiences, carved Maori meeting house visits and guided treks on the Tongariro Crossing.

Interwoven to each tour-experience are time-honoured stories, myths & legends, and Stan's personal accounts of growing up in the Turangi region.
