Fish-and-Chips – Marlborough style
One of the few things you can count on any small Kiwi town is a pub, a dairy, a petrol station and a fish and chip shop.
I have found the best Fish n Chips in the seaport town of Picton. Ngamahau Fisheries is family owned and operated and these locals know how to create old Fish n Chips with the freshest fish. This catch of day is located in their purpose built caravan outside their fish factory on Kent Street. Blue cod ( my favourite) hand battered – not too thick and not too thin with a generous lot of chippies and a slice of lemon.
And of course what better way to enjoy them than to head down to the Picton foreshore and indulge in this lunch while enjoying the beauty of the ocean.
