Waitangi Day - 06th February each year

Wildfoods Festival- 10th March 2012
Held in Hokitika each year, the Wildfoods Festival offers visitors the opportunity to discover and sample a selection of exotic local delicacies from the west coast area. Past offerings have included worm sushi, baby grasshoppers in sweet jelly and smoky sheep’s tail.
Ellerslie International Flower Show–7-11th March 2012
The largest floral exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, Ellerslie International Flower Show will next be held in Christchurch. With over 300 exhibits to view including garden art designed by leading New Zealand sculptors.
Bluff Oyster & Food Festival - 26th May 2012
Featuring local musicians & celebrities from all over the country the Bluff Oyster Festival is a great experience. On offer is a smorgasbord of local delacacies including venison, muttonbird, bluecod, crayfish and of course oysters.
