Don’t miss these fabulous shopping experiences when you’re in Auckland.

Auckland
Queen Street, Auckland

The iconic Queen Street has it all

From luxe to bargain finds, and the best souvenir shops in town, Queen Street tops the list of shopaholics. Souvenir shops are concentrated towards the harbour end of the street or tucked away in arcades. Top international luxury labels are housed in its lower, harbour-end and on Customs St (just off it). All along Queen Street, Cobbled laneways take you to some of the city’s best fashion and lifestyle boutique stores. They are also home to flavour-filled cafes and restaurants – do try!

Off-beat ... Karangahape Road

Every shop, café and restaurant is different, but there’s a strong sense of community in K’ Road, a favourite gathering place for artists, students, musicians and writers. High fashion sits comfortably next to retro, vintage and streetwear stores. Unique design shops offer everything from imported handmade jewellery to locally-made home furnishings, and music stores sell enviable vinyl collections and instruments.

Go hip on Ponsonby Road

Auckland’s retail heaven. Ponsonby’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent years with top New Zealand designers and upmarket lifestyle stores now joining its long list of retailers. There are plenty of stores offering exclusive New Zealand-made gifts, jewellery and crafts – always a great buy. Intertwined with these shops are some of Auckland’s best cafes, bars and restaurants.

Let Devonport charm you

This seaside village will charm you with its Victorian setting, vintage finds, some of the best book stores in the city and relaxed café culture. It’s got all the makings of a day well-spent shopping. Make sure you visit the nearby North Head Historic Reserve for fabulous harbour views and a lesson in history.

Beached on Takapuna

This north Auckland suburb, only 15 minutes from the city, has an enviable beach lifestyle and shopping to match. It’s a great place to shop for Kiwi designs and New Zealand-made handicrafts.
