Queenstown has everything from rugged mountains, majestic lakes and crystal clear air; it has been capturing the hearts of visitors for many years. The downtown area is tucked into a beautiful bay on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with amazing views from every direction.
There’s a permanent buzz in the downtown area where you’ll find a lively café/bar scene and excellent shopping. The town rarely sleeps and offers something for everyone. You will find sophisticated wine bars, live jazz, great DJ’s, locally brewed beer or enjoy après ski in front of a roaring log fire.
Blue skies, white slopes and spectacular views best describe the Queenstown winter. Before each big snowfall a vibe sweeps over the town in anticipation of fresh tracks. Skiers, snowboarders and alpine lovers are drawn to the region's six international standard ski areas.
The ski slopes cater to every level of skier or snowboarder and there are dedicated beginner areas for those first timers with lessons available for all ages. The more adventurous skiers and snowboarders can hike to up to the chutes or take off for the day with a guide and a helicopter to find the untouched powder runs.
For those who are not lovers of the snow there is a variety of sightseeing day trips to Queenstown’s surrounding areas including Glenorchy and Arrowtown. Plenty of action packed activities that can be followed with a relaxing treatment at one of the International Day Spa’s or simply enjoy the views with a mulled wine from one of the many cafes.
