Mission Bay

Cafe culture mixed with the beauty of Mission Bay beach views and the playfulness of out-door activities

Mission Bay only 20mins from Auckland CBD offers a beautiful beach rooted in rich history with an abundance of restaurants.

Whether it is brunch, lunch, dinner or social evening drinks, no matter what season or time of day, the Promenade in Mission Bay is always thriving. The Promenade can always be found bustling with people dining al fresco, enjoying the views of the sandy beach, Rangitoto Island and the activities on the harbour. Great spots for dining and nightlife include Bar Comida, Mission Bay Cafe, De Fontein Belgian Beer Café and Ruan Thai & Reef Bar.

The centre piece of Mission Bay is the Trevor Moss Davis Memorial Fountain, constructed of Sicilian marble fluted to catch the light and ornamented by three bronze sea monsters gushing water. The fountain puts on a regular show, sending dancing jets of water as high as 12 m (40 ft) in the air, while at night it features a spectacular light show.

Mission Bay boosts a great sidewalk from Auckland CBD to the main strip in Mission Bay which is popular with skaters, bikers, runners and those looking to enjoy a easy walk with lovely views of the beach.

The Bay also offers children a grand playground accompanied by a football sized field, perfect for family gatherings.
