The Pinnacles Poem

This poem really captures the feeling of walking in the rain!

Ascending The Pinnacles - in the Eye of the Storm!

Boots crunching, sticks prodding

Rivers roaring, bridges swinging

Fern fronds dripping, fantails peeping

Stone steps heaving, lungs gasping

School kids moaning, teacher pleading

Mist enveloping, felled kauri weeping

Pinnacles hiding, some despairing

Now descending, rain persisting

Water cascading, rock path slipping

Noses dripping, glasses misting

Tom tits fleeting, water rising

Dampness seeping, trousers clinging

Feet now squelching, Brad encouraging

Van appearing, walkers cheering

Kauaeranga Valley conquered!
