The Lake Gunn Nature Walk is an easy 45 minute loop walk suited to all ages and accessible to wheelchairs.

Located in the Fiordland National Park, the Lake Gunn Nature Walk is a loop track passes through red beech forest and gives glimpses of the birdlife typical of the Eglinton Valley.

If you want to make the most of your time in Fiordland in a day, hikers can start at Key Summit Track located at the Great Divide car park, and detour to Cascade Creek Camp Ground where this 1.4km nature walk starts.

Side trips can be made to several lake beaches and sheltered fishing spots.

Getting there

This walk begins from the Milford Road, about 78 km from Te Anau.

A signpost at the Cascade Creek camp ground marks the entrance to the Nature Walk.
