Wilsons Abel Tasman co-founder, Lynette Wilson, is the great-granddaughter of William & Adele Hadfield who built the original Meadowbank Homestead at Awaroa. Lynette's family rebuilt the homestead, preserving the family's personal histories.
Take a scenic cruise (2.5 hr return) along the spectacular Abel Tasman Coast to Awaroa. Your Guide helps you understand why the inlet attracted both Maori and European to its splendour and bounty. Discover stories of love, hope and hardship, and why the inlet was finally abandoned.
Take a walk (2 hrs) along the coastal track to historic Tonga Quarry. Cross the bridge designed by local Maori at Onetahuti tidal stream to gain an insight into their journey from first settlement to the modern world.
