Jack's Raw Bar is named after famous Marlborough dolphin Pelorus Jack who guided boats through the Marlborough Sounds from 1888 to 1913 and became the inspiration for the name of Cloudy Bay's sparkling wine Pelorus. The dolphin emblem also appears on every cap and closure for all Cloudy Bay wines.
The concept of the restaurant is to create a casual and relaxed dining experience based on mainly raw concepts and to allow our guests to enjoy the beautiful garden and views when they visit the Cloudy Bay Shed. The menu will vary from one season to another and will always focus on fresh & local produce such as freshly shucked oysters, artisan cheeses, meats and breads including vegetarian options.
