If you’re new to these sorts of experiences, start here. There is no rush and we can do this at the pace you’re most comfortable with. Once we’ve reached the car park a challenging but rewarding climb awaits. Little Mt Peel offers magnificent views at 1,311m and you can even see the coast in the distance. The track leads through native bush and tussock slopes, stopping at a little day shelter just below the summit, where we can have lunch before pushing onto the summit.
An optional, short side trip to the Rata Falls marks the end of our trip before we head back into the city. Time to compare photos and talk about the delicate and vital ecosystem we just experienced from your expert guide.
