Lake Mapourika is a pristine freshwater lake created by the Franz Josef Glacier 14,000 years ago. It now sits calm and reflective between the mountains and the sea, in the warmer and drier section of the Franz Josef Glacier valley. All our tours depart at the iconic Lake Mapourika Jetty, which a well known photo stop off the West Coast Highway.
This venue features outstanding views of 11 different glaciers, Mt Tasman and Mt Cook. We also explore some of Westland's oldest untouched native rainforest in the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary.
We offer a variety of guided Kayak or Stand Up Paddleboard tours, so there's a tour for everyone! No experience is required. Free high quality digital photos are provided on each tour!
