The Hauraki Gulf is the seabird capital of New Zealand and also home to dolphins, orca, Brydes whale, fin whales, sei whales and pygmy blue whales.

Come with us on the sailing yacht Pacific Star for a special day discovering the oceanography of the gulf, its natural history and marine biology. Our cruises includes a visit to the gannet colony on Horuhoru Rock, home to 2500 nesting pairs and one of only five such sites in New Zealand.

Experience the underwater soundscape via a hydrophone and perhaps meet dolphins and orcas. The cruise includes a delicious lunch, plus we’ll anchor in a secluded bay, for some swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding.
