Mt Aspiring is known as the Matterhorn of the South because of it's horned shape. The 5 day Mt Aspiring expedition is suitable for climbers with basic mountaineering experience.
Climbing Mt Aspiring is a significant undertaking and should not be underestimated. Queenstown Mountain Guides guide this route at a guide ratio of 1:1 with climbers that have some technical climbing experience. For more experienced climbers we guide the route at a 1:2 guide client ratio.
Our Mt Aspiring expedition starts with a helicopter flight into Bevan Col and the a walk across the Bonar Glacier to Colin Todd Hut. From here the summit push is made.The normal climbing day is 10-15 hours depending on the condition and the route taken on the mountain.
