With spectacular views of Mt Tasman & Mt Cook & FJ Glacier from the beach as well as the Trig Track walk, you can also see the lagoon - the biggest natural wetland in the southern hemisphere at 13kms long, & home to a number of native and endemic birds including Kotuku (white heron), white-faced herons, bar-tailed godwits, oyster catchers, pied stilts, royal spoonbills & white fronted terns, & many more.
