Your overnight experience starts in the afternoon with mihi whakatau (welcome ceremony) followed by paramanawa (afternoon tea) then tour of marae grounds while our kaiārahi (local guide) explains customs and protocols. You'll help with the hāngī hākari (feast) before sitting down to enjoy! Learn mihi (Māori greeting) and waiata (Māori song) finishing off with a relaxation meditation to help you soak in the wairua (spirit) of the marae for the rest of the evening. Day two takes you on a hike of our local maunga (mountain) or you may choose the option of a conservation activity such as track clearing or tree planting. Your experience concludes with a final karakia (blessing). Includes all meals, accommodation and transport.
