We will point out all of the amazing things that can be seen in the Southern Sky using our laser. We will also show you how you can find the amazing southern sky delights.
We get to see the heart of the Milky Way from our amazing dark sky location at Star Safari, nestled in the middle of the Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve.
Our elevated site is ideal for stargazing, we look after your night sky adaption by having red lights and accessible paths. We'll also keep you warm with hot water bottles, blankets and hot chocolate.
Our dark sky is so amazing you'll see the Milky Way reaching across the sky.

Transaction charges and booking fees.
Bookings for Celestial Escapades are open up to 48hours prior to session start time. Sessions are 90mins in length and involve viewing night sky objects through 16" telescopes. If weather is unsuitable for stargazing we will continue with our virtual sky exploration. Children are free, if aged under 15 and under, and must be accompanied by adult with a purchased ticket. Maximum of two children per adult. Children must be supervised at all times and must not wear shoes that have lights on them.
Star Safari has the right to cancel at anytime for any reason, in this case customers will receive a full refund of the ticket price. Conditions for customer cancellations: 0 % refund within < 7 days notice of cancellation or no show. 50% refund within 7-14 days notice. 90% refund with >21 days notice of cancellation Refunds will be processed within 48 hours of notification of cancellation
Enjoy a unique, private experience with Hari, an astrobiologist, and Sam, an astrophysicist, as they exclusively share their passion for the cosmos with your group. Benefit from their combined expertise as they lead you through an extraordinary exploration of the Universe. In this experience you will get maximum use of the telescopes and we will bring out both of the big 16 inch reflecting telescopes. If the weather is cloudy then we'll take you on a virtual sky exploration experience where Hari and Sam can answer any of your questions about the universe. You'll then have exclusive use of the VR headsets and will be able to explore any of our VR experiences. At the same time we'll serve up a stellar hot chocolate to keep you warm.
