Nokomai Valley Lodge is situated on Nokomai Station, a large high country sheep and cattle station one hour south of Queenstown in Northern Southland.

It is the best central location for 20 or more great fishing areas including the Oreti, Waikaia, Aparima, and the Mighty Mataura rivers.

The Mataura flows for 20km through Nokomai and is only 2 minutes from the accommodation. This river has it all. Gentle access, clear water, plenty of good sized fish and the legendary Mad Mataura Mayfly hatch if you are lucky.

The lodge has four comfortable modern cottages catering especially for the fly fishermen. There is an option to self cater or pre-order one of our tasty country-style meals in the dining room.

There are 4 comfortable, spacious one or two bedroom cottages. Guests can self cater or join meals in the dining room by prior arrangement.

Cottage type Price
1 bedroom (max 3) $280
2 bedroom 1 bathroom (max 5) $340
