Minimum age is 7 years / no child prices available on this tour Fly / Drive Combo can be done in reverse order – Volcanic Air will decide on the day which order due to weather conditions. Essentials to bring: Good walking/hiking shoes, warm jacket, if bringing a bag - backpacks only, bottle of water, sunscreen (in Summer). Great but not essential: Snack bar or similar to eat, thermal under layer, camera.
Should cancellation occur within 30 days of the date of travel a 25% cancellation fee will apply. If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the date of travel a 75% cancellation fee will apply. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the date of travel a 100% cancellation fee will apply. Should Volcanic Air cancel the booking due to unsuitable weather conditions or for circumstances beyond our control, then a full refund will apply.

After a 1.5-2 hour hike and a scree run down into the crater your 4WD will drop you at the remote shores of Lake Rerewhakaaitu when you will return to Rotorua by Floatplane (or vice versa). Enjoy a spectacular aerial overview of the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, Mount Tarawera and our hidden lakes district.
