Our guides are knowledgeable and articulate and interesting story tellers. With humour and grace they will share their personal insights with you. Walk with your guides on the ancestral lands of the Hakikino Conservation Reserve where their people loved, fought and died over 700 years ago. Visit the reserve's native plant nursery. Call in at the Marae reservation and then visit the family ancestral home built over one hundred years ago where you will share a meal together. Our elders have an interesting and varied life and they enjoy meeting people and sharing stories. The tour is informal and relaxed and provides you with an insider’s perspective on being Maori as they share with you historical and contemporary New Zealand Maori culture.
