About

Due to unforseen circumstances the Whakarewarewa Village is temporarily closed.

Set in a geothermal wonderland, Whakarewarewa – The Living Māori Village is one of New Zealand’s oldest, iconic and most authentic attractions.

Home to the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people, residents have been welcoming and sharing their enviable way of life for over 100 years. Enjoy a village guided tour with views of New Zealand’s most famous and largest geyser (Pōhutu). Be enchanted by the Jurassic like natural scenery & steaming lakes of our Geothermal Trails, or get adventurous & explore the wonders that nature has to offer on an E-Bike experience taking in the Redwood Forest.
