Luxury, Peace and Privacy
We recently enjoyed a whistle-stop, two-week trip to New Zealand, which was wonderful, but just a little hectic. So we were delighted to find, in the middle of our trip, a charming two-bedroomed cottage where everything was laid on - luxury, peace and privacy. Staying at Little Branches for two nights helped us recharge our batteries and remember that holidays are also about rest and relaxation.
Wake up to the sound of the birds
Little Branches is owned and operated by Pip Fowler, who built it just over a year ago. The cottage is set in a charming English-style garden, which overlooks the surrounding farmland. We woke up to the sounds of birds and the rustle of the wind in the trees - it was so relaxing compared to the sounds of the traffic and city we are used to when we wake up in London. We also loved the way we had our own driveway and felt completely private.
Enjoy the extra little touches
Pip is an excellent host and makes a mean breakfast, which she delivers to the door at the time you specify. We tried both the continental and the cooked breakfasts and raved about both of them. The little touches meant a lot to us - for example, the home baking supplied free of charge on arrival, the beatuful selection of teas, the state of the art coffee machine and the home made preserves.
Pip was able to direct us to some of the best cafes and shops in nearby Greytown and Martinborough and when we got over our fatigue, that was a fun thing to do. We walked down to the local pub, the Tin Hut, for dinner one night and the other night Pip delivered a delicious home cooked meal to the door.
We slept like logs
I don't quite know why, but for the two ngihts we stayed at Little Branches we slept like logs - the best we had slept for ages. Perhaps it was the incredibly comfy sheets and crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, or maybe it was the swim we had in the spa pool - mmmm - bliss!
Don't miss it!
I can't recommend this place enough. So if you are planning a trip to New Zealand don't miss it.
