A Skydiving Dream Come True

If you only do one thing in New Zealand, make it Skydiving. It's something you'll remember for the rest of your life. I mean, how often do you get to fly?

A Must-Do In New Zealand

Skydiving. It's thrilling, nerve-racking, scary, epic, stimulating, exciting, and amazing — all at the same time. It's something almost everybody has thought about at least once... Some say it's crazy, but I say it's life changing.

Location & Company

Queenstown, New Zealand. Hands down. After traveling the entire North & South islands, I can say without a doubt that Queenstown was my favourite town in the entire trip. The beautiful snow topped mountains, the laid back lifestyle of the locals, the adventure around every corner, and most importantly home to NZone Skydive.

After hours of research on which company to go with, NZone won in every aspect. They had the best price for what you got, were super friendly from start to finish, but most importantly, made you feel super safe. From the beginning of the day, right through to the end, there wasn't one time where I was left feeling unsafe... And when you're jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet high; that's saying something.

The Jump

After getting an excellent briefing at the office, the bus then took our group to the 'Drop Zone'. We put on our jump suits, met our tandem instructors, and had another quick briefing on what to do in the air. Before I knew it, I was walking to the plane with my instructor, nervously awaiting what was in store.

After everybody piled into the plane, we started our ascent. At this point I was pretty nervous — until I saw a child sitting in front of me. He couldn't have been more than 12 years old! This really shows that it doesn't matter how young (or old) you are to jump out of a plane.

All the sudden the door opened, and the groups in front of me were falling out of the plane. It was surreal. Before I knew it, I was sitting on the edge of the plane, looking down at the amazing snowcapped mountains below. The next thing I knew, I was flipping out of the plane and falling to the ground below.

The next 45 seconds of free-fall were life changing. It didn't feel like you were falling — but more so just floating through the air. It's a feeling I can't even put into words. The parachute then opened, and we slowly floated to the ground. I even got to steer for a bit! It went smoothly the entire time, including the landing, which was as easy as sitting down.

The Aftermath

Not a day goes by where I don't look at the sky and think, 'I can't wait to do that again'. It's changed my life, and I'm absolutely hooked. There's no doubt in my mind that I'll be doing it again, hopefully many many times.

Do yourself a favour and book your skydive today. You won't regret it!
