In the South Island's Queenstown you can take a gondola up to the top of Bob's Peak, then fly through the treetops while gazing out at the Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu. If you're in Christchurch, make sure to check out Christchurch Adventure Park for views of the city (and on a clear day, see the Southern Alps). 

Another exciting option for adventure seekers is the West Coast Tree Tops Zipline(opens in new window) located near Hokitika, which offers breathtaking views of the lush rainforest and native flora and fauna.
