Air NZ's top 10 picks for Marlborough

Chef and farmers market guru stuck on Blenheim

It’s no coincidence that chef and New Zealand Farmers Market advocate, Chris Fortune makes his home in Blenheim.

Chris moved to Blenheim 13 years ago attracted by the excellence and innovation of food and wine producers in the region.

Today he works as a chef, has been chairperson of the Marlborough Farmers Market for 10 years and is in his second year as founding chairperson of Farmers Market New Zealand (an organisation representing over 40 farmers’ markets throughout the country).

He also finds time to cook at the Marlborough Farmers Market in Blenheim every week.

It is the ideal location for the committed foodie and his young family. “We are so lucky that we get to drink and eat Marlborough every day”.

Chris’s  latest recommendations include cheese making courses with local cheese artisan Lisa Harper; a visit and tasting at the Nutt Ranch, a family-run hazelnut growing business, and for the best wild meats and venison, Premium Game.

But a visit to Blenheim and Marlborough is not about eating alone.

We suggest you also make time for these 10 top picks:
