The townships of Lake Manapouri and Lake Te Anau provide an excellent base from which to discover fly fishing nirvana.  These two lakes have some great locations for fly fishing with access to beautiful streams and rivers by boat.  Also, there are up to 20 rivers and streams within two hours’ drive which offer world-class fishing, including the Mataura River which has the reputation of being one of the best brown trout rivers in the world.  There are outstanding rivers in the Fiordland area and within easy reach from the townships of Lake Te Anau and Lake Manapouri.
