Summer on the lakes in Rotorua

Blue Lake

Also known as Lake Tikitapu, it is one of the smallest of the lakes within the region making it the ideal swimming spot. You will also find a number of sporting events held here of the summer including rowing regattas and triathlons. At the peak of the day when the sun is bearing down you can take advantage of the lakes shaded walking track.

Lake Rotoiti

Lake Rotoiti is a popular destination for keen trout fishers. This lake has one of the highest catch rates in the district due to the healthy natural stocks and a large number of hatchery-reared trout that are released into the lake each year. After a hard days fishing head across the lake to the Manupirua Hot Springs. Only accessible by boat these hot pools are set in a magic location, surrounded by native bush and right on the water's edge overlooking Lake Rotoiti.
