This sailing adventure is suitable for those with limited or no sailing experience. It is a tailored private adventure. Participants may choose either a Noelex 25 or Davidson 20 for the adventure. With the Davidson 20, the maximum allowed aboard is two, the Noelex 25, the maximum allowed aboard is four. Children (4-14) may accompany their parents or caregivers. Attainment of qualifications is not guaranteed and will be dependent on the successful completion of practical and theory elements
Cancellations 30 or more days prior to commencement of sailing holiday; deposit refunded less $250 administration fee. Cancellations within 30 days of commencement of sailing holiday; deposit retained by Great Escape with the balance retained unless the dates can be resold.
This six-day sailing holiday is perfect for if you have limited or no sailing experience, but dream of sailing by yourselves; dropping anchor in a secluded bay, enjoying the natural beauty of the Bay of Islands and logging off from everyday stress.
The first three days are spent sailing with your instructor, learning how to sail, handle the boat, navigate safely, interpret the weather and anchor safely. At night the instructor goes home and you sleep securely tied to our dock.
The second three days you spend sailing, exploring the Bay of Islands by yourselves, sleeping aboard in the bay of your choice. You're the skipper. At the end of your voyage, you'll have an international yachting qualification and a huge feeling of accomplishment.
