Opened in 1898, the Cadman Bath House was the first building commissioned especially for tourists - so has been called "The birth place of tourism in New Zealand".
The Museum is home to a diverse collection of local artefacts, films and archives on Gold Mining, Farming and the Spa history, show what life was like for those brave and hardy pioneers and the generations who have followed.
The buildings in the domain form the only complete Victorian/Edwardian Domain in New Zealand.
