Clutha is home to stunning beaches, rivers and waterfalls - many of which visitors are likely to experience all to themselves.
An experience not to be missed is a day walking the Catlins River Wisp Loop Walk and seeing Purakaunui Falls and Jack's Blowhole up close. You'll see native parakeets, delicate orchids, rushing rapids and spectacular views; all amongst the beauty of a lush, native forest.
If you want to experience fascianting wildlife up close, make sure you visit Nugget Point. One of the most distinctive pieces of land along the coast, you can take a five-minute walk to the lighthouse where you'll encounter spectacular views and see fur seals on the rocks.
At low tide visitors can walk to the Cathedral Caves, a group of spectacular sea caves that have been formed my the ocean over thousands of years. The two main caves join together within the cliff structure itself.
