The Pancake Rocks and Blowholes walk is one of the most famous short walks on the beautiful West Coast. The starting point for the track is directly opposite the Punakaiki i-SITE.
The varied track showcases the dramatic landscape of the area. Following the track through native bush with nikau palms and flax plentiful you will find many lookouts with views of the rugged coastline (keep your eye out for hectors dolphins).
From one of the lookouts on a clear day you can see Mt cook and other high peaks along the Southern Alps. The blowholes are best viewed 1 hour either side of hightide, when the sea is rough or afterbad weather.
