Matakana Tour

Highlights: 800 year old Kauri and rural museum, brick Bay Sculpture Trail and wine tasting. Matakana Village, Tawharanui Regional Park, afternoon tea at Chocolate Brown (time permitting). Pick up and drop off from inner city.

First we’ll travel north to the Parry Kauri Park and Warkworth Museum. Here you can stand under an 800 year old Kauri, and immerse yourself in the pioneering history of this region. Next is a tour of the Brick Bay Sculpture Trail in the heart of their vineyard, where you will experience a compelling outdoor gallery exhibition of around 45 sculptures sited along the 2km trail. A refreshing wine tasting is at the end of this trail.

By now everyone will be hungry so off to a choice of sophisticated cafés and restaurants in picturesque Matakana Village. After lunch, we’ll travel east to Anchor Bay, arguably the most beautiful beach in the Auckland region, and to end the day we’ll pop into Chocolate Brown on our way back to Auckland for tea.
