Enjoy gathering local shellfish in the harbour (pipi, cockle and sea snails). Along the way we will explain the importance of preserving these traditional food resources for our future generations. You will also enjoy history of the area, stories of origin and genealogy. Visible landmarks like the stronghold of ancestral chief, Rahiri. Each have their own story that are historical and cultural significant to us. At the end of this experience you can sample the food we gather if you choose accompanied by some homemade Māori bread.
