This is an informative and leisurely walk up the Fox Valley to a viewpoint where you can see the dynamic face of the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier.
Your guide will point out ice that has travelled 12 kilometres from the base of the Southern Alps all the way to the river valley floor. It’s a fascinating area.
While your guide may take you closer to the ice than any unguided walkers, the trip may also take you onto the public access track. This is dependent on the dynamic environmental conditions in the valley on any given day.
If your time is limited or you prefer not to walk on the glacier, this trip is for you. It requires low to moderate fitness. You’ll spend one and a half hours walking over terrain that varies in gradient.
