Tawa Loop

The Tawa Loop walk offers all the beauty of the main track, with less than half the distance. Walking through the lush ancient native forest, standing 6-metres tall you will find Whatonga, an ancient Maori chief. This 4km loop walk takes about 2 hours. Find out more!

Alice Nash Heritage Memorial Lodge Track
This walk is ideal for families wanting to spend some time in nature, or even stay overnight. There are some steady climbs, but nothing too challenging. Walking through some of New Zealand’s most beautiful bush, be sure to keep your eye out for birdlife above. Upon reaching Alice Nash hut, you can turn around and head back, stay overnight, or if you’ve preplanned, carry on into the Ruahine Ranges. Find out more!
