Auckland's amazing natural setting makes it one big playground for thrill seekers, with action and adventure all around you.
The Sky Tower is the largest building in the Southern Hemisphere and the twelfth largest building in the world. Get your heart pumping with SkyJump – New Zealand’s highest base jump – or the incredible SkyWalk, where you’ll walk around the exterior of the Sky Tower with nothing between you and the ground but a rope and a 1.2m wide platform – this is extreme sightseeing at its best.
For another high altitude option, climb up, under and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge with Auckland Bridge Climb. Watch the traffic zoom beneath you and check out the expansive city and harbour views. The perfect way to finish your climb is obvious – take the plunge off the Auckland Harbour Bridge for another thrill with AJ Hackett Bungy.
Get a bird's eye view of Auckland with a scenic flight by seaplane and land in the water next to one of Auckland’s emerald islands in the Hauraki Gulf. Or take a helicopter ride to see Auckland from above in all directions, from the city to the black sand beaches, rainforests, volcanoes and islands.
Join the action out on the water and become part of the crew on an ex-America’s Cup racing yacht or blast around the harbour on a high speed jet boat ride while taking in the city views. Join a guided sunset kayak tour out to Rangitoto Island or for a closer look at marine life head out to the Hauraki Gulf on a whale and dolphin safari. The adventurous can even dive or snorkel with the sharks at Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium.
To get the adrenalin racing head out to Auckland’s wild west coast. Abseil down waterfalls while canyoning in the Waitakere Ranges, take a 4 wheel motorbike safari through towering forest and along wild surf beaches or go high-speed mountain biking through the trees. You can also ride along Muriwai to experience Auckland’s vast beaches by horseback.
For adventure in the city, rumble around on the back of a Harley Davidson motorbike checking out the sights. Or you can catch the ferry over to Waiheke Island to experience ziplining on three flying foxes over treetops and a vineyard.
