Auckland’s Eden Park has witnessed some of rugby’s greatest moments and there are more to come with three key matches scheduled during the 2017 series.
The Red Army will invade New Zealand’s largest city to witness two All Black test matches and a game against Auckland-based Super Rugby franchise the Blues at the 50,000 capacity Eden Park stadium. The Lions will play the Blues on 7 June and the first and final test matches of the 2017 series will be played on 24 June and 8 July respectively.
As well as being the country’s main gateway for international travellers, Auckland is home to a third of New Zealanders and ranks as one of the top 10 places in the world to live - listed by Lonely Planet in the Top 10 Cities to visit in 2014.
It is a city of urban sophistication with a multi-cultural mix that influences everything from cuisine to music, art and fashion. Set between two dramatic harbours with a stunning coastline, life in Auckland revolves around the sea and the sub-tropical climate makes it the perfect place to enjoy outdoor adventure and casual coastal living.
