Launch into this itinerary with a domestic flight from Auckland to Gisborne, approximately 1 hour. If transferring from an international flight, ensure there is at least 90 minutes between connecting flights.
Another option - collect a rental vehicle at Auckland airport or Auckland city and drive to Gisborne, a journey that will take approximately 6 hours. Break up the trip with a visit to the famous Hobbiton Movie Set. Join a fascinating 2 hour guided tour and experience stunning views across the Kaimai Ranges.
