This experience begins with us departing Wellington City and driving to the beautiful Kaitoke Regional Park where we visit the filming location for Lord of the Rings "Rivendell". If time allows, we take a short walk across the swing bridge to view some giants of our natural forest. From Kaitoke, we drive over the Remutaka Hill into the Wairarapa district before continuing to the rugged south coast. After arriving at the Putangirua Pinnacles, we enjoy a delicious picnic lunch before our long walk to the towering Putangirua Pinnacles themselves. This is where they filmed the Lord of the Rings "Paths of the Dead". We then continue to view the North Islands largest seal colony and views from the lighthouse before returning to the city.
