FAQ Health & Safety

Requirements in the operator database

1. Why do I need to meet my legal obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act to be listed on newzealand.com?

In response to the new Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) which came into law in April 2016, we are making some changes on newzealand.com and in our operator database.

Tourism New Zealand has sought legal advice regarding our role in recommending tourism experiences and providing a platform for product suppliers to promote their business. In response to this we have changed our terms and conditions to be listed on newzealand.com.

This will help ensure that newzealand.com connects consumers to quality and legally compliant product.

2. How do I confirm that I meet my obligations under the new HSWA2015?

Please go to www.register.newzealand.com and sign in using your account details. If you have forgotten your account details (e-mail and/or password) please don’t hesitate to contact us on register@tnz.govt.nz(opens in new window)

Your listing will become inactive in our operator database and will be hidden from newzealand.com until you sign in to www.register.newzealand.com and are able to confirm that you meet your obligations under the HSWA2015.

9. What does this mean for my listing on my regional tourism website?

Many regional tourism websites use the Tourism New Zealand Operator Database listings.
