The ski season in New Zealand generally runs from June to October. The best time to go will depend on where you choose to ski. South Island ski fields open up in mid June, while North Island ski fields generally operate from late June. Just keep in mind that the smaller fields are usually open from early to mid July, and tend to close a little earlier than the large commercial ski areas.
