1) Avoid the queues at Fergburger:
If you haven't already heard of the legendary Queenstown Burger joint you soon will. Cult status and the fact that they serve a pretty top notch burger sees Ferg at the top of many peoples Queenstown must do list ... hence the queues!
Queues are easily avoided however with a little local knowledge and 9 magic digits: 03 441 1232 ... simply get on your cell phone and skip to the front of the queue in style by placing a phone order!
My tip for a tasty burger: go with the Ferg with Blue Cheese or the Bun Laden ... extra hungry? Then hit the monster Mr Big Stuff and get satisfaction... need more options the check out Fergs menu here
There are so many great activities to choose from in Queenstown but if your on a budget you can quickly find your options very limited.. stretch that dollar the extra mile by checking out Bookme.co.nz Queenstown's cut price activity website where you can get last minute deals, early bird deals, and deals for the sake of deals!
Half price Milford sound day trips, $1 jet boat rides, horse trekking, paragliding and nearly everything you could want to do comes up on this site at huge discounts if you keep your eyes peeled.
3) Need a bathroom?
Forget the public toilets! and head straight for the French opulence of the conveniently located Sofitel Hotel, Duke St in down town Queenstown ... it's the little things that make the difference such as a choice of 3 different liquid soaps a nice fluffy hand towel and comfy 3 ply paper all making for a five star bathroom experience.
Grab a great coffee from the Left Bank Cafe near reception on your way out the door ... the coffee often comes accompanied with a complimentary something sweet!
4) Free WiFi
Surprisingly hard to find! But check out the aforementioned Left Bank Cafe, as well as Patagonia Chocolates on the lake front for all the free internet coffee and chocolate you need!
