Treated Like Queens In Queenstown

The very kind owners of Blue Peaks Lodge & Apartments Queenstown, Anne & Michael recently hosted three members of the Golden Chain Motels reservations team

The reservations team consisting of Krystle, Tanya and Cathy had an incredible time - staying in the ideal location, dined in the town’s hotspots and enjoyed just a smidge of the many activities and experiences the region has to offer.

Anne & Michael gave these girls an experience they will never forget. Here is what they got up to.

Where they stayed:

The girls were hosted at Blue Peaks Lodge & Apartments. These luxury apartments are conveniently located with just a 2 minute walk to the town centre.

The apartments had a light and spacious living area and a balcony that overlooked landscaped gardens. After each days adventures the balcony became a haven to relax in the warm autumn sunshine and sip away at glass of wine.

With luxury fittings and furnishings throughout, the apartments provided a great space for girls with separate bedrooms and bathrooms providing comfort and privacy.

Where they dined:

On the first night the girls enjoyed a ride up the Skyline Gondola – which is one of the steepest in the Southern Hemisphere.

The views were breath-taking – Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and the town below at twilight, was a great way to start off the evening. Dinner in the Restaurant at the top was a feast to say the least. The buffet consisted of all the favourites – seafood, salads, roast meat, classic dishes and divine desserts - all whilst being captivated by the panoramic views.

The second night the girls took a wander down Church Street and found Searle Lane Bar & Rotisserie. What a great find! The rustic and casual ambience along with the roaring fireplace provided the perfect spot for the girls to enjoy some hearty comfort food. The ciders went down nicely too.

Leaving the warmth and snugness of Searle Lane the girls thought they would test themselves and ask each other – could they HANDLE... THE THRILL OF THE CHILL?! Dressed up like an Eskimo, they entered into the MINUS 5° ICE BAR. With over 18 tonnes of crystal clear ice architecture including ice carvings, ice furniture and even ice glassware the girls enjoyed a couple of cocktails before heading back to their warm and inviting apartment.

The adventures:

There is no better way to see this beautiful region than by air and by boat.

Although a little nervous by the small plane, the nerves were soon forgotten once on-board their Milford Sound Scenic Flight. The dramatic scenery was indescribable and so overwhelming but they wanted more.

Once landing in Milford Sound the boat was ready and waiting to show them what makes this area so beautiful.  The cruise explored all the nooks and crannies along the edge of the fiord and got them up close to waterfalls, flora, dolphins, birds and other wildlife.
