Matakana River tours is the only activity in walking distance of the main village.
An hour daily cruise over the high tide( departure times change daily) showcasing the history and diverse ecosystem of the river. Come and experience a New Zealand tidal estuary where the captain gives and informative, educational and amusing commentary.
Possible sighting of stingrays, birdlife such as the shy black shag(Kawau) and royal spoonbills.
