This tour begins with a drive up the Port Hills through Cashmere to the Sign of the Takahe. We then proceed to the Sign of the Kiwi for stunning views of Christchurch and Lyttelton Harbour. After stopping for morning tea at the Sign of the Bellbird, we reach Gebbie’s Pass. Our walk starts at Gebbie’s Pass, going through open farmland and pine forests. After 45 minutes, we emerge into tussock grasslands with panoramic views of Lyttelton Harbour and Quail Island, passing the “Remarkable Dykes” before arriving at the historic Packhorse Hut for a picnic lunch. After exploring the area and taking photos, we head back to Gebbie’s Pass via the scenic coastal road, passing through Governors Bay before returning to Christchurch.
