Treble Cone is the South Island's largest ski area, and in 2015 will have some exciting new changes including new intermediate trails and a new cafe. The new trails will increase the amount of groomed intermediate terrain at the popular but often challenging mountain, making it more accessible and fun for less experienced skiers.
The new intermediate run will be at Side Saddle, in the Saddle Basin area of the resort. Earthworks will create a wide, fun intermediate trail which will take advantage of fast quad share access and reliable natural snowfalls. It will be a groomed run, offering skiers more variety as they enjoy the majestic views of Lake Wanaka that the resort is known for.
The new mountain top cafe will be at the top of Home Basin, giving skiers and riders a chance to refuel or just have a hot choccy break without returning to the base of the mountain.
Treble Cone was awarded New Zealand's No.1 Ski Resort at the World Ski Resorts for the second consecutive year in 2014, and its continual improvements make it a fantastic destination for all snow lovers. Now with more terrain for intermediate skiers, it will be even more compelling for skiers and riders who have traditionally not ventured past Cardrona on their Wanaka or Queenstown ski holiday. Treble Cone lift tickets can be purchased as a multiday flexi pass in 2015, meaning you can ski Cardrona or Treble Cone on the same lift ticket, plus get savings when you purchase multiple days. You can book your lift tickets in packages with discounted Wanaka accommodation at the Ski Travel Company
